The Intruder

The Intruder

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Tangled teeth

wrapped around words

strung together

with spidered tongue

veins

dripping with eggs

in the sack

attacked

just now

by my shoe

the glue you made

now stuck to my feet

enduring

no more.

One said

once

beware the spider

aye, I say

Beware

of me

forever

the chore of

this house

upkeep.

Haha! This was a great intro to you. If all of your poems are this fun, I'm sure it'll be a pleasure reading them. I have to admit - I absolutely hate spiders; I'll scream like a girl if surprised by one.... Have fun spider smashing and doing chores - they both seem endless, do they not?

Not a Zen thing to do, but one must keep up with domestic chores, funny read with an evil smirk at the end I suppose!

LOL that is the fate of many a spider here ha my motto is if you leave me alone you're all good, but if you get in my face - gone! lol - the picture you paint in that first stanza made me cringe - "dripping with eggs" "spidered tongue veins" arghh shiver!! get the shoe out!
