The wise man, and the people

The wise man, and the people

A Poem by Joshua Smit
"

corruption of the world... and the only hope that stands

"
He hears their cries
He feels their pain
The wise man wonders what can be done

The corrupt spark within him a great fury
How they made evil use of learning,
and forced the masses into sheepish ignorance

The wise man looks sadly to the world,
he wonders if anything can be done,
if any hope remains

He looks back to see if others have tried.
He sees many attempts fulled with hope and courage,
but all have ended in failure

In all the stories of revolution and change,
there is one thing that always happens...
greed always corrupts the leaders,
and the leaders corrupt the people

He is overcome by sorrow
as he realizes that nothing can be done.
The path of destiny is dark from the greed of man.
And it is the path of the masses to be enslaved by the elite

In this place of great sorrow he feels touched by a warm hand
and he is shown a new world to come,
it is a world filled with hope and love
it is a world filled led by god

beautiful, and inspiring. when greed reigns in our hearts only sorrow can come to others. Greed is not that good at all times and when you take from others what is their share then that is not good.

It's a vicious cycle, Tyrant oppresses the masses, revolutionaries overthrow the tyrant and then they become corrupt and become the very thing they fought to overthrow. Excellent and thought provoking poem.

"fulled" ? maybe "fueled" ? Poetry is a great way to tie up difficult concepts and ideals and deliver the message. In this age, hearing the message and understanding it are part of the malaise. Keep putting it out there.
