I am a failure

Because I am

Happy to be

Me.

 

I am a failure

Because “Me”

Does not mesh well with “They”

As they see it.

 

I am a failure

Because I cannot

Find fulfillment in greed

Or be only self serving.

 

I am a failure

Because I cannot stand this

Repetitive motion,

Meet all these demands.

 

I am a success

In feeling left out

And attempting conformity

With little ease.

 

I am a success

In being run down

And feeling worthless

Under the weight.

 

I am a success

In finding depression,

My soul inspiration

For penning these words.

 

I am a success

In buying into

Dreams of happiness

Through material and wealth.

 

Hypocrisy.

 

I am a failure.
