Awaiting Our Death

Just a short poem about the end of the world that i came up with. Reviews ?

We raise our defeated faces

Towards the darkening sky

Staring into oblivion

Wondering 'Why, oh why?'

How did it come to this?

This aweful dreadful end?

In my opinion i would rather be dead.

The silence is shattered

With a sickening sound

We throw in our tokens

And fall to the ground

We breath our last breath

And blink our last blink

In a matter of seconds, our stomachs begin to sink

The end is near

It's not far away

It's time to pray

Our very last pray

How did it come to this?

This dreadful end?

Our un-promising futures lay right around the bend

We stay very still

And listen with fear

The deafening sound rings in our ears

The sickening noise begins to increase

In a matter of seconds we will all be desceased.

A interesting poem. Your generation have a handful of problems create by a foolish generation. We forgot WW1 and WW2. Fought in Korea and Vietnam. We learn nothing from a million Soldiers killed and wounded. Now you are left with three active war area's and young people being shipped off to war. Your poem is direct and honest words. When the world ends. It will be a loud scream of pain. Not a quick and fast death. Kids of today need to be like the dreamers of the late sixties and early seventies. Demonstration ended war and allow peace to last for 25 year in the USA. I like the feel and emotion of this poem. Could expand to a strong story.
