Do not watch the petals fall from the rose with sadness, know that, like life, things sometimes must fade, before they can bloom again.

Beloved Rose

Wilted is the rose you gave me

the once vibrant blood red, fading

how fragile it now seems to me

its petals collapsing with a single kiss

as lips graze it softly, one final time

how I wish it lasted forever

a memory, like an everlasting photograph

Immortalized

with love it was given

and with love it shall remain

even as the petals continue falling

disappearing like ashes with the wind

and the tears slipping down my cheeks
