The Patriots Cause

The Patriots Cause

A Poem by Jeannie Stevens
"

Tribute to those who fight and give their lives so that we can have freedom.

"
There are those who stand and kiss the names
Of their loved ones on the wall
There are those who cry for their daughters
And sons who have taken the fall
And some still wait with hopeful thoughts
Until that soldier returns
And some still mourn for that loved one lost
Whose image in their hearts still burns
The wars have taken such drastic tolls
On the lives of kindred and kin
That faces still float on memories' sea
And sadly we'll not see again
But on that day when we walk to the gates
To see heavens most wonderful prize
We'll cry no more but lay hold of hope
When we'll see them again with our eyes
So know in your hearts all you Moms and Dads
That they did not die in vain
But they stood and fought for freedoms cause
And the cause is worth all the pain
