A Tossed Love Potion

A Tossed Love Potion

A Poem by sinNsincerity

I remember the pain

of that day;

so today,

I’ll capture that

piece of my heart

and place it in

a glass jar.

Bonjour!

Plus comme bon voyage...

Here on the shore,

I toss the memories

into the sea,

so that they’ll

never be

dealt, felt, or smelt

ever again…

Just one with

the wicked ocean.

I didn't know you know French!!! Ah, you and I are alike in this, I usually gather memories in boxes and gently set them free into the sea (literally!). Though probably all in my head, I feel a heavy weight lift off my shoulders. A new beginning commences. Adieu et bon voyage indeed to yesterdays!

oh how we wish it was that easy, to be able to shove it all in glass jar, all the heartache, pain negativity and seal it away!

I love the image of him tossing the heartbreak into the ocean. Great poem. I would have liked to hear more about the specifics of the pain and anguish--what they felt like. Thanks for sharing.

If only some memories could be disposed of in this way I would undoubtedly run out of jars. A very visceral and original concept, with imagery that had me standing on the shore next to you. VERY well done! take care...dan

Thank you so much for reading, I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Greenpeace will not be happy with you for polluting the oceans with such toxic waste...lol.
Seriously though sloughing off old memories of hurt is a healthy action. As long as those waves don't bring them back to your shores all is good.
Although this write is relatively short, it sparks the imagination of the reader. I sat wondering wheather I would metaphorically toss them or write it all out and do the hole bottle thing. Not PC I know, but totally satisfying.
