Welcome To The Hospital (Slam Edition)

Welcome To The Hospital (Slam Edition)

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

I wanted to redo this poem, or add to it, but before long it wasn't the same poem. This is my version 2 of Welcome To The Hospital

"

Welcome To The hospital, although impossible please enjoy your stay

Anyway, waste away for the rest days, your just another soul used to medicate and create another monster,

The dying of mentally ill children we sponsor

It’s great, the amount of hate that fate sent their way is just another helping we ate and cleaned our plate of their innocence

Using our view of punishing crazy people to wash it all down, destroying any human bonds we could have found, the sound of their cries we’re fond of, retarded wastes of space don’t deserve love

Where the broken die raped and minds break as predators stalk the plastic landscape, locked in, no escape, no where is safe, can’t walk away, a grey blocked nightmarish fate whether your asleep or awake, I find it hard to describe, when you know no gods on your side, on a rollercoaster ride, through hell and demons you confide, as you try to stay alive

Live to serve the ones who lie or commit suicide trying to spread their secrets

Your human heart a sign of weakness, look endlessly for escape seek it, mind numb, resolve breaking in the bleakness, speak this but it won’t solve secrets we’ll just tell the world who the freak is

Where people outside the window can’t hear your cries, but laughter echoes inside the wards walls your tomb is buried behind, cold plastic halls

With the strewn torn bits of my body scattered, shattered in tatters scorned by humanity as they spat on me with pain in what’s left in my brain that is drunk on your insanity dropping like heavy rain from everyone’s eyes, close them, this silent tragedy isn’t meant to be known

We’ve shown them a home, now we own them alone, our cruel minds and hearts made of stone

You’re a pig in a pig sty divided by the slight difference of illness and occupation, forced creation of prejudices I don’t abide by

And pig meat tastes better sautéed, fried, buried alive like the bodies of teenagers that dangled dangerously to escape what I see endlessly in my dreams bury their souls in the sweet red sauce that flowed through our veins before they froze in the frost of our salvation because we consume the lost, hang your noose, we’ve killed the truth, mental illness is the new holocaust

Why try to medicate me, when you can honestly see, that nobody wants to be, the b*****d who dies here

Welcome to the hospital, please enjoy your stay, and if you think it’s cold and kind of grey and you decide to run away in the fray of the pouring rain know that you’ll be caught midday because we’re paid to lock you indoors in chains

Know your place, the police will find you, leave you here again in disgrace, gag you, blind you, bind you, and when your back we’ll slowly unwind your mind to let you know finally that we’re above the law, we are a flaw in the cracked system, and we punish resistance, we own these halls, kick the boy who falls, acting like he sees at all

That’s how we feel self-empowered every hour, watching you cower like a crushed flower, our opinion towers over reality because a heart that beats, can take a seat, under my feet, cause f**k the weak, thinking they can speak, I’ll make you seek freedom at the peak of your psychosis but dangle it out of reach

Watching your spirit fall into the deep, hear the weeping in the late of the day, seeping in the hate trying to make it go away, saying that it’s not too late weakened betrayed trying to climb behind the steepened road of today’s white-walled fate through heavy sublime nightmares we unload and create, I think you’ll find if we say bend you better fold, we masturbate when flesh gets cold, you want things to end? Well we’ve foretold you’ve been sold a false answer

The cost of those pills we instilled that fill your mind with happy thoughts are the chilling thrills we get when we kill regular peoples sick ones, mothers, sons, brothers, others and fatten them inside this birdcage filling their hearts with sadness and rage as we disengage with our empathy remember we are the boss so we don’t mention me letting children get tossed from home to rot inside asylum caught by our lot when their taught to listen and if they’re not then

Welcome to the hospital, please enjoy your stay, but if you want to live to see another day slave, you better f*****g behave

Author's Note

R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
I decided to improve upon one of my other poems, but somehow ended up with a different poem. It's still worth reading though, so I thought I'd post it.

I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.
