Avalon

Avalon

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

Happy with this poem, but I still get the feeling it could have been better.

"

Dragonsong

Synonymous carnivalesque perfection resurrected

Balaclava camouflaging lager

Lachrymose

Lackadaisical

Hallucination cloaca

And dead cedar roads roam the chromosomes of Elysium quadriplegic in their deviance

The lotus of agoraphobia growing sociopathic in the classroom of basilisks

Fumes looming crucifix over the polaroid planetoids cannonballing constellations

Reciprocating eclipse of daylight amidst the hallways,

Abyss of drawing lulling solace

Lullabied patricide hermaphrodite acolytes galactic kite

Of interstellar melancholic woven from the golden orchestra

Of orchards unfortunate metamorphosis orphanages of porcelain contortionists

Forming the incorporeal folklore of broken souls

Bore the worn-out wool over our eyes

Lullaby’s stitched bright as a fallen star

Somersaulting sidewalks

Stalks of cornrow origami high-rise of moonlight

Pilgrimage silver-edged silhouette enshrouded

Hourglass of heavens’ hippocampus gigantic as the Atlantic pantheon

Glancing through the romantic winter canvas

Dismantled by the sample of time’s’ dandelion avarice

Just a weed in Eden

What a simple freedom

Hope so fleeting

Death so reaping

Breath still bleeding

Resting seasons

Chest still beating

Left me dreaming

Crept in sleeping

Dressed in feelings

I look past the nightshade in its jaw

And recite your scythe-blade has no flaw

For when it’s time to reap the gallows dawn

You cannot take my earthly bonds

Poltergeist I am; until I’m gone

Sleeping drawn in deepest yawns

Drowning soft in dragonsong

Aloft the bronze gospel of Avalon

I promise I read every single review, and I generally will reply to them. I look forward to my next review, because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be happy to hear anything you feel needs sharing. Whenever you write on my shortcomings or breakthroughs, or the themes of my poems, or share ideas and friendly criticism, it decides my next poem to an extent. I will listen, learn and be thankful.
