Family Tree

Family Tree

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

A poem for my mother. 16 haikus with an overlapping story.

"

Growing like the bark

On the family tree, branching

Watch saplings prosper

Out on the water

Skipping stones skimming timeless

The waves rigid, one

The cliff shines heavens’

Glare of eyes upon stone paths

We step towards morn

The cerulean sky

Clouds hang on starlit alleys

Familiar blossoms

Full as the new moon

Light spirited sun on backs

Reminds me of home’s warmth

Together, always

Through thick and thin flocking birds

Light as a feather

Fly through illusions

The past still real, full, green

Glistens dew, new leaves

Buds of rosaries

Priests of Elysium’s court

Spencer Smith Park Spring

Candian geese on

The lake Ontario, wings high

We, not so different

Free as the breeze sings

The smell of new life

And old, strong dawn’s roots

High as the tallest

Sycamore, Oak, Willow

Immortal, alive

Green as the forests

Blue as the waters, clear skies

Tangled in family

Growing like the bark

On the family tree, branching

Watch saplings prosper

Anew the old be

Blossoming together, one

Heralds of the next

Parilous storms may come

But they will never knock down

Such mother's of the

Forest's many pearls

Emeralds, sapphire lifelines

Entangled, yet free

I promise I read every single review, and I generally will reply to them. I look forward to my next review, because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be happy to hear anything you feel needs sharing. Whenever you write on my shortcomings or breakthroughs, or the themes of my poems, or share ideas and friendly criticism, it decides my next poem to an extent. I will listen, learn and be thankful. Both of you are lucky to have each-other. Apart from that this is a nice poetry about natural beauty, imagery is good but I expected more than this.
