The Form Of Darkness

The Form Of Darkness

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

"

We all live in our own form of darkness

We have flaws and fallacies that define the crevices of our hearts

The nook and cranny of our rusted rose lips

Smiling thorn bushes just as white or red as the harvest moon

Fingers crossed into slipknot crucifixion

Arms and legs like massive hollow hulking trees

We all live in our own form of darkness

Wars rage on for no purpose but selfishness and self-love

People die born into a world that cannot cradle them

Mountains wear down to shambles

Forests rot into graveyards

Destiny brings us closer to each other, and through these lives, death

We all live in our own form of darkness

To burn is to bring to light the mistakes of thousands for a second

To bring down the thunder of the sky is to take up arms with nothingness

A bolt of lightning is only a flash in the pan

Wear the hearts of others on your sleeves

Stitch their veins into yours like a braided ponytail of flesh

Double helix in double helix

Hand in hand, a chorus of voices one in some horrible way

Become one with yourself, and others, and God

And we will live a blind monster, become our own form of blacklight

And still exist bound

To our own form of darkness

But there will come a day

When the sky will open itself like an outstretched hand, offering

And we

Will finally learn how to dance in colour

As the darkness we are, is somehow, lovely

Like the night sky echoing ebony

Off the ivory iris of a bone-moon

In a skeleton of stars

A shadowland graveyard of heaven's renaissance

Engulfing satellites stalagmites in penultimate enlightenment

Brighter than the blackhole sun

It's in our blood

It's all we've ever had

You cannot find escape in what we are made of

Only dead ends of a stump that no longer bleed colour into flesh

We all live buried

In our own form of darkness

I feel like this poem speaks to me which is great... its speaking to the reader directly. Though I feel like relating. And you have this potential overflowing. I've completely experienced this in your poems and I don't get this anywhere else.
