A True Hero

A True Hero

A Poem by Sir Joseph
"

A true hero has emerged in the form a young man

"
Look, I know our beliefs differ;
They mash and diverge.
I'm here asking,
Could this start a surge?

A Godly young man,
Who is deep in The Word;
Has left his place of comfort,
Left it to go serve.

Not in a foreign mission field,
But here on American streets.
His goal you ask?
To show love to the bums he meets.

He has answered God's calling,
And is serving it fully.
He is extremely intelligent,
So don't call him loopy.

He is a fanatic,
Sold out for Christ.
Giving his all,
Even his life.

He is serving in Austin Texas,
He arrived this week.
To live as and among the homeless,
Showing love at its peak.

He gave up his everything,
He left it all behind.
To give the people hope,
To blow their mind.

By showing them who God is,
With all The Lord's glory.
My request is that,
You remember this story.

You may disagree with his stance,
You may call it Insane.
But I admire him,
And he wants no fame.

 Remember him please,
Keep him in your prayers.
For John-Mark Harris,
Has taken his cross to bear.

Author's Note

Sir Joseph
Please, I know some people do not believe in God on here, I'm Just asking that if you do serve the one true and mighty God, that you keep John-Mark in your prayers! He is living as a homeless man on the streets of Austin Texas and showing love to those people there. He is ministering and witnessing to them. Please do not post any negative comments on this.

very nice piece
I really like the lines
"To give the people hope,
To blow their mind."
it reminded me that I have the power to give hope whether there is none
by being kind and giving one person can change the lives of others if s/he chooses to

:)
although my belief-system lies somewhere else, i do feel for and appreciate for those who in fact pick it up and try to do something, or as in the case of john-mark, everything.
thinking back in time, i believe i may have seen him many times, around the world in many cities.
knowing his name, i have something definite to look for.

Silence so the lord can speak, set aside every day, Silence for the church is born, from the blood and water flowing down Christ's side,Where a rib once was a lance pierced true, let the Holy spirit guide John -Mark Harris to the brothels and wine so that he might feel where Jesus has been. Amen.

I will most certainly keep John-Mark in my prayers. He's doint a brave thing. You must follow your own moral compass no matter what others say.
Last line of the sixth verse; should be "peak" rather than "peek".

Thank you very much for both the correction and for keeping John-Mark in your prayers!
