Irresolute

Irresolute

A Poem by Enigma

Inhibitions, yes

You wanted to destroy

But not the heart that harbored them

As every footstep you take

I hear those millions of shards

Shattering and crumbling

Into dust

Another nail, driven deep inside

Why does a touch of love

Come with a wound of hate

Or the itch of insecurity

Or the feverish pride

Burning heart and soul alike

Looking back, I wonder

Should I let loose the tears of regret?

Or welcome my fate with a silent acceptance

I wonder what went wrong

After everything that did go right

These damned thoughts

Never keep their places

Irresolute is the word

So I go back to picking up the pieces

And pulling out the crimson pieces of metal

To build the walls once again

To build myself once again

Protected, till the next impulse

Of feeling alive

Strikes me dead once more

Question of love are answer with time. Love should be kind and gentle. We hope for a good ending. Don't open door to people who want little of you. You want someone that believed you are their world and would do all they can to make you happy. A very good poem. Made me think. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

Wonderful piece. Yes, sometimes love hurts but it shouldn't hurt more than it soothes.

You absolutely captured one of the most precarious (and precious) parts of the Human condition. It takes a fearless heart to keep getting into the ring of fire called life. That last line totally rocks this poem!
Fantastically written piece. Thank You!

There are times when we wonder why we even try to love...We are richer for the losses but highly sensitive people seem to be more emotionally evolved, both a blessing and a curse. At the end of the day love is the only thing that really matters in life, but sometimes it's difficult to understand what real love is and it is much easier to know what it is not. IMHO being loving friends first help us make better choices.

Do not give up as you are destined to find unconditional love first understanding it will not do what has been done here.
