Goodbyes

Goodbyes

A Poem by Seeker
"

#2 in a series of poems about missing someone

"

Why do goodbyes come right after

I love you?

Why couldn’t we ever love properly?

Somewhere along the line

it became more than I love you

it became

“I am here”

here for whatever you need me for.

Your happiness is mine;

Your sadness is mine.

You’re leaving me,

But I hope you finally find happiness outside of limbo

Without me

New adventures

that you won’t wait to tell me.

Maybe we’ll become different people along the way.

Maybe.

I miss your arms already

Author's Note

So it's turned out to be a series. My muse suddenly sprung up upon this arrival of "I-really-don't-know"-ness and "missing you"-ness. There's one more, so far.

Anyway, I wrote this minutes after we said said goodbye in person. Didn't bother to tweak or make it more 'poetic'.
