Calm Convalescence

Calm Convalescence

A Poem by Sleep Practice

it's easy when you are touching skin
when you can see the stars
and the film is thin
rushing in
and bleeding out

you dream, and you drift
with senses dull, and memories diluted
you count to ten
over and over again

you take your time

moving through layers

and when you stop

and where you stop
it's warm
and you are welcomed
with soft lips
with smooth hands
until you say when
until the kiss
of the autumn wind
