I Don't Care

I Don't Care

A Poem by Sloan Chambers
"

A story about how I wish I felt, but I can't start to even imagine not caring about him...

"
Do you think that I hate you?
Of course I don't
Because that means
I'd have to care
And I don't care
About you
Anymore
I used to
You used to hold a special
place in my heart
I let you in
The only person
That has ever seen this side of me
Now you don't care
So I don't care
I'm not a follower
Because I will always know
That I can never forget you
But I don't hate you
I don't care about you
You can do anything
And I won't hold you back
Like you always said I had
Be free to do what you want
You can't get me back
No matter how hard you try
Why don''t you take that girl
You chose over me?
Did she not want you?
Good for her
Because as much as I act like it
I don't care

Wow, this is one of the most perfectly worded problems I have read. The theme is crystal clear and told with wonderful aggression and revenge. Well done!

About
I love music, art, and writing. There is nothing else like 'em. I grew up with really strict parents, who are all math and science. So, naturally, I'm gifted in them, but that doesn't mean I like t.. more..
