Eros

Eros

I first jumped in

The deep blue waters

Not knowing how to swim.

I moved and strained

With my eyes open.

The waves were pulling,

And the water was dim.

As the time passed

I treaded and treaded,

Tired and straining

In the heart of the ocean.

It became too tough.

I didn’t want to go,

But choice wasn’t enough.

I’m now out of the ocean

And back onto the shore.

This isn’t the first time

I don’t want to swim anymore.

Against my decision

To never jump back in,

I find myself in the ocean again.

I like that ending! :) Very nice. Good use of metaphor running throughout. Nice imagery and rhythm!
