Chapter 1A Chapter by MandaI sat in one of the rows of airport seats. I had just landed into California and I was waiting for Ingrit to come pick me up. We knew what each other looked like by pictures, live chats, and videos we made for each other. I rested my head into my hands as I waited
to be picked up. Half an hour passed and no one showed up. I grabbed my
suitcases and started to walk the airports shops and diners. Then a glimpse of
a sign caught my eye. “Mrs. Jonas” It read. I looked up at the carrier of the
sign; realizing it was Ingrit! “Ingrit?” I said out loud as she grinned back at
me. I ran to my friend, throwing my arms around her into a hug. “Thank you, I figured you’d enjoy it. Nice to finally meet you, by the way.” She stated. I nodded back at her in agreement. “Nice to have finally meet you too.” I smiled. “Come on, let’s head home.” She said to me. Ingrit helped me with my luggage. I had one big suitcase and one small one; both of them had wheels. I grabbed the big one when she helped with the small one. We headed to her car. It was her first car so it wasn’t fancy. She was obviously proud of it though. We placed my suitcases into the back of the car and then climbed in. When we drove off we just talked, we talked about life, my flight, why I was interested in the school. She told me how amazing Pete is for a boss. Sometimes he asks for too much, like getting him something from starbucks. He usually pays her for her own drink though. She tells him he doesn’t have to, but he is stubborn. She also told me about the bands she has met, the celebrity parties she went to, the fun she has had here in LA so far. I was so happy for my friend. She found a great job with great people. I then told her about how I got into Political Science. We talked about a lot of things online, but I never told her about that interest exactly. She was also a vegetarian, so I knew eating wouldn’t be too much of an issue at her place. I use to live in a house full of meat eaters, excuse me, Omnivores. We finally made it to her apartment. It was a nice building. When we headed to her apartment and opened the door, it was almost bare. She has movie and music posters on her walls. She had only a couch in the living room with a TV. The Kitchen was attached to the living room; only thing separating it was a small island, where we sat to eat. There were two rooms next to each other with a really small bathroom I between the rooms. I went to the room Ingrit had pointed at and stated, “That ones yours.” I walked into to see it was already furnished. There were empty drawers, a bed, and a nightstand. “I brought posters!” I told Ingrit. “Want to help me put some up in my room?” Ingrit laughed, “Sure. You can put a few in the living room too if you want.” She told me. I nodded a reply and then we got to work. We unzipped my bags and pulled out Harry potter, Jonas Brother, Fall Out Boy, Ludo, This Providence and Cobra Starship posters. I started to put my cloths away while Ingrit organized the posters on my bed. When I was done with my clothing we started to put up my posters. We hung half of them in my room and the other half we hung in the living room with her own band posters. The apartment now felt a little more lived in for me. I smiled as I looked proudly at my walls. “I think it looks great!” I said with a grin. “Same her.” Ingrit replied, “Now what do you want for dinner?” She asked me. “We can order pizza?” “Yeah, sounds good to me.” I smiled. Ingrit headed for the phone and pressed two, then the send button. “The pizza place is your speed-dial?” I asked with a raised eyebrow. “Yeah. Of course it is. Working with Pete you would learn how to eat healthy.” She smirked at me. “I guess so.” I laughed. After the cheese pizza arrived, each of us getting a large cheese. I finished mine in about twenty minutes. I ate the whole cheese pizza. Ingrit stared at me blinking as I eat my last piece. “I guess you were hungry…” She said. “No, I just can eat a lot of dominos Pizza. Once I have one slice I can’t stop.” My eyes landed to her large pizza, she had four pieces left. I licked my lips then I looked back up at her, “Are you going to finish that?” I asked. “Yes!” She glared at me, “I’m not like you. I eat slowly. I enjoy my food. I don’t inhale it.” She laughed. I smiled back at her. My life is going to be different from now on, I was about to find out how exactly much different it will be. © 2010 MandaReviews
