No More Thoughts Of You

No More Thoughts Of You

A Poem by Suelou

No More Thoughts Of You

Leaving you was the hardest thing for me to do

Only to find it was just as hard for me to let go

Never did I think it would be so hard

Even remembering the cruel things you did and said

Loneliness surrounds me each and everyday now, but

I know that there will come a day when there will be

No more thoughts of you, at least not as much

Eventually, those memories will all be gone

So, it will be easier for me to get on with my life, it

Seems I am destined to always be alone

Memories of one whom we so dearly loved will never die. They may fade with time, but will always be there. We forget some aspects of the reasons for our loneliness, but will never forget the love that existed between what now is split asunder. If a broken heart can heal, it's to remember that WE ARE CAPABLE of love...and can be again.

Acrostics are one of my favorite forms of poetry.
(Loneliness) speaks what so many of us come
to feel at one time in our lives. Sometimes,
no matter how someone may treat us, we
still love them. Love is love; be it cruel or sweet.
There are after all many forms on that little word.

Nice write.

What a superb Acrostic and take on the loneliness theme.
I felt the deep emotional pain in this. Well done Sue!

You've captured the feeling of loneliness and even taken it a step further with a fear it shall remain. I would hope that is not the case although some do choose to remain single while having a social life that dispels loneliness. Sharon

Beautiful.
First of all let me tell you that the picture is perfect for it.
The emotion you put into it is beautiful trough sincerity and purity, but the last two verses seem a little pessimistic, and that kind of rips the poem's quality if you ask me.
