Save me

Save me

A Poem by Jas

Save me from myself
I’m drowning in doubt
Living under lock and key
Keeps my heart on a shelf

Save me from this place
I’m falling in dispare
Barely surviving
Running out of space

Save me from this hell
I’m running for my life
I can’t keep going
My brains swell

Once I’m gone
I’ll breathe again
Until then
I’ll sing this sad song

I think we all feel this way sometimes. I know the feeling well. You've used some strong phrases to show how this feels, to be inside the narrator's head. Personally, I do not like to see a cliche phrase like "lock and key" or "heart on a shelf" . . . not that you need to change this poem, but just try to tweak such a common phrase into something more original next time. Well done expression of feeling futility (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie

I think what we believe effects our lives. Even in bad times we have to look for something good.
