I Call Upon Your Name
By: Adam M. Snow

Oh Father, who art in Heaven
I call upon Your name.
Where ever You may be
You watch over me, today.

I call on Your mercy
I cry out Your name, oh God
that You may hear me.
I long for Your touch, oh God
that You may heal me
that You may walk beside me.

I call upon Your name.
I call upon Your name.
I call upon Your name, oh God.
Can You hear me?

Oh Father, who art in Heaven
I seek Your light.
Where ever You may be
Your love will always be delight.

I call on Your mercy and grace
I cry out Your name, oh God.
Can You hear me?
I long for Your touch, oh God
that You may heal me
walk beside me.
Show me your way in me, oh God
let me live for you again.
Cleanse me now with your holy blood,
and wash my sins away.
It is you I call,
it is you my life adore.
It is you and only you, oh God
do I give my praise.

I call upon Your name.
I call upon Your name.
I call upon Your name, oh God.
Can You hear me?

I call upon Your name.
I call upon Your name.
I call upon Your name, oh God.
Can You hear me today.

I just hope that one day I could turn this into an actual song but right now I don't even know how to play any instrument.

Wow! So beautiful and glorious!!! This is a beautiful song. Heartfelt prayer to God...I hope too that you will get this song recorded one day! I am learning the guitar right now for that same reason! I too love writing lyrics but don't know how to write a melody. I'll let you know if I find somewhere that might interest you. I have been searching on the internet for interest in lyrics.

This is a beautiful prayer as a stand alone, without music ,but if you eventually turn it into a song it would make a wonderful worship song. Well don.e

I absolutely love this. It's great! and learning to play an instrument isn't difficult. it just takes time and practice (which both can be hard to aquire) but the end result is amazing. Keep up the good work!

I'm not religious, but the devotion you show through this poem is inspiring. If you want to turn this into a song, you could always do an acapella song (vocals with no instruments) Since this is a song I won't judge it poetically, it repeats in each verse over and over as a song should. As a song of devotion, this is as good as it gets.

I am sure He will put someone in your path to make this an actual song. Great lyrics. Keep on penning.

I love how you based it around the "Our Father, Who Art in Heaven" song from church... I remember singing it every Sunday in mass when I was little. Flows really well too. We're all wishing for deliverance... Well done. :)

Wow, i love it. Adding to favorites, i think it would make a lovely song.
And for some reason it makes me think of the song "Hallowed ground" by W.A.S.P.

This is a lovely song. You seem to understand meter and rhythm well, so it matches the melodic aspects of song. I would like actually hear a few bars someday, just as a test run even. Maybe a friend could help? I could definitely see this being in a church service some year.
