peaceful, open, we

peaceful, open, we

A Poem by Snowfrost Moth

"this peaceful open space
has laid its hand on me"
we stand here face to face
in this tranquil meadowlea

the fire in your eyes
the thrumming of your heart
only greetings, no goodbyes
as we take to wings of lark

anger long since gone
and tears no more to cry
the words we write in song
can't compare with the taste of sky

feathers caress the air
as we fly forever far
only returning to our lair
when the eons birth a star

once more in the meadowlea
caressing and scraping each other's beaks
peaceful, open, we
have all we need to seek

Author's Note

Snowfrost Moth
"the softness of the water
the firmness of the rock
the kindness of the sundown
the crowing of a cock

the shadow of a tree
the wingstroke of a bird
the breaking of a wave
away where no one heard

this peaceful open space
has laid its heart on me (x4)"

- Peaceful Open Space, Hurdy Gurdy
