Stranger's Toys

Stranger's Toys

A Poem by Zachary Jude

Things will never be the same

You know I cannot deal with change

And now I wonder why I try

To make you love me, don’t know why

Your absence is all around

There’s no way to avoid your sound

And all that’s left to fill the void

Is the cruelty of your choice

I know that you are seeing me

Taking guesses and trophies

But what you see’s not what you get

Can I move on? Not quite yet

Everything you gave to me

Stranger’s toys and memories

You’re lonely now and so am I

No need to wonder why I try
