Defending My Art

People are frustrating me, and i just need to clear my head out. Be prepared for an onslaught of thought!

You cannot take my talent from me.

I feel as thought i've surpassed you.

I think that you think less of me

And are purposefully hindering my future opportunities.

 

You need to stop acting like this is high school.

You are a mother by now

And gossip only turns people against each other.

Why do you have to be so nosy?

 

You are manipulative.

And i understand why you're paranoid

And not a fan of confrontation

Do you even know who you are?

 

You act as thought you are a King

Who never leaves the room without his army.

Afraid of mere questions

That you could coyly avoid.

 

By talking about something else

For distraction

For hours

For lack of defense

For hiding who you are.

I don't know you anymore.

nice thought process here, it does move around quite a bit, but you prepared us for that. i liked how it started about defendign your heart. and i mean really - why do we even have to defend it? I'm getting to the point where i'm starting to realize i shouldn't even have to (defend it, that is)

for the first time in my life, i'm starting to believe in my talent. we should hold on to those things- since it is ultimately what makes us happy, as writers.

so i'm totally with you on this one my dear.
it's like as we grow up, as we mature, we realize that we really dont know people anymore, and their lack of support for us just validates that even more.
