Easier Said Than Done

Easier Said Than Done

A Poem by Soda Songs

Can't figure out why life's got to be so hard
You make it look easy as you raise the bar
Going on like nothing in this world can do you harm
And you keep telling me to play the part

You said that everything has its way of working out
You told me not to be afraid and take a good look at me now
I let them get the best of me - and the rest of me is not enough
Don't you tell me that this is just a case of bad luck

I can only hope
My reason is a good one
I can only try
And when it fails, drop it all and run
I can only believe
That your words are a front
When they're easier said than done

And don't think you've got it made
I saw the hours put in, I saw all the pain
Shades of black turning into shades of gray
You like living life in the fast lane

You tell me don't look down, when I'm on the brink
And when it's driving me mad, you're telling me not to think
I am surrounded by the walls of (uncertainty)
Like it or not, I have a fate that is coming to me

I can only hope
My reason is a good one
I can only try
And when it fails, drop it all and run
I can only believe
That your words are a front
when they're easier said than done

It's not impossible
I'm not invincible
I can only stand by and listen
When you're only giving criticism
Don't know why you even bother
When it just goes in one ear and right out the other

I can only hope
My reason is a good one
I can only try
And when it fails, drop it all and run
I can only believe
That your words are a front
When they're easier said than done
