Civilized Enslavery

Civilized Enslavery

A Poem by John Dennis Gillespie
"

Civility is the new slavery.

"

I just got tired of reading and writing. I just got tired of being exciting. So I, read some more then I, left the world behind.

Right in the dust, there was nothing left of us, but, words.

Words that’ll break a whole, inside the way that society ignites for foolish interest in things that hold importance for a night.

I’m writing lines for unreal cultures for a time that won’t exist.

There’s only crisis in my mindset that this earth might need a fix, might need a change.

I’m so reserve when I contemplate, the way, we should go on.

We should go on, but, not like this.

There’s only one real circumstance it seems, that’s to divert from any dream that has an obstacle, I tried, but it’s impossible to me.

To give it up, So listen up, be a disciple to this lyric, In my spirits there’s philosophy a heart that beats inside of me for bravery!

For goals that don’t condone life in a home of civilized enslavery

These chains upon my brain they were not made for me.

I came to see the world behind my glasses or this lens,

I’ll travel far because the stars are only checkpoints when my journey never ends.
