Break Hearts

Break Hearts

A Poem by John Dennis Gillespie

Haven’t you, heard the word, I’m only, on this earth, to break hearts.
Yes, I only, break hearts.
So won’t you stay, stay awhile and see this, twisted smile.
You were like a little child, my little mistress, innocence gone, I’m so wicked.
I’m so wicked, but, you stay.
Don’t you say, I didn’t say, that I would leave you like I did.
Because I did,  I made it clear, I’m only here, to break hearts.
I break hearts then leave you there.
Yeah, I only break hearts my dear it’s clear.
That I only break hearts.
Yeah, I break hearts then disappear.
I won’t keep this a secret, I’m just guarding all the parts in my chest.
I enter your life then take your breath and leave you scarred, so d*mn depressed.
I only break hearts.
Yeah, I break hearts like it’s my job.
Like it’s my job to leave you lonely, till you’re lonely, lovely lost.
Yeah, Love is lost.
There is nothing in here.
There’s nothing in here.
There’s nothing sustaining my pulse.
There’s nothing I feel.
There’s nothing I feel.
There’s nothing inside my heart.
There’s nothing at all.
There’s nothing at all.
