~Extinguish me

~Extinguish me

A Poem by Sophy Freebirds
"

Smothered before the flame ignites...

"
Tiny slits of eye open in void,
Retarded limbs float in fluid.
Unheard beat haunts
The masked sunshine.....

Melted clothes to cover
Her mocked nudity.
Tears echo,blending with
Buried innocence....
Longing fingers reach out,
To be led into World
Full of shrouded prudence....

Intake stalled,cut the cord..
Arms mauled,chop me off!!
Unsung cry,fills brooding sky.
Ohhh!! Traditions so high!

Smothered before birth.
Extinguish me....
Before my fire scorches,
Your prejudiced earth!

Rays dimmed...
Ashes fly...
Over the extinguished fire!!

It is such a horror...genocide of poor innocent lives. We must be aware of this situation in order to do something to stop it from continuing. Intense words....and well written. Lydi**

as a conservative citizen of the USA .. this relates not only to feminist protective pleas .. but of humanity to stop all the horrific genocide of the unborn .. thank you for your clear voice in this poem ... one never knows what chain reactions can be accomplished by the pen .. and word .. be it ever so seemingly small .. i am praying for you and for the support of your moral compass .. in a hostile land the bravery multiplies ..

*hugs back at yaa* Thank you for your appreciative words Trace. :)
You courageously depict the suffering of your fellow women in these lines. I admire how you do not turn away. Instead, you focus on the circumstances facing those individuals. You allow us to see and feel what they experience.

The emotionally charged imagery of your piece breaks my heart and brings awareness at the same time, especially in your second stanza. Those lines provide specific images into the horrors of female genocide.

I am in awe of what you have written and shared with us.
