In The Wind

In The Wind

A Poem by S.V

Heaving in the salt on the air
The lungs fill, pushing the body outward,
hanging over the beach.
Three drops
fall into the sand
Which now twists and spins below, in the wind.
Ahead,
The sea
folds over the coast, almost reaching the feet,
now hanging over the black rock.
A trail of thoughts is pulled out and carried away, through the back of the head, with the hair trailing back, in knots,
Every time the gale blows from ahead.
Washing the mind blank,
nothing but urgency remains.

Not even the cause is recalled,
What was it, that we wanted release from?
With one push of full force from the arms, the feet land
and sink into sand.
Pushing forward in a sprint
Muscles pulsate and tense,
in rhythm against the wind.
Working together with only one goal,
to push.
And the body pushes.
As one, over the sand.
A full run
Head empty again. The gale rises, washes over
the face and the things thrown away,
forgotten at least for the present
In the wind.
Leaving the running body clean, in its sanctity, nature.
Bare in
Forgiveness
