Heart and Key

You have the key to my heart...

I use to keep my heart locked up,
to where no one else could see.
So i wouldnt get hurt,
and be blinded by the pain,
I thought no one would ever find it;
that precious little key.

But now I see there is one person
in this great world so big,
whom I may trust to keep it,

So now I say to you
as I give you my precious little key.

Be careful with my heart,
for now you've set me free.

A simple poem, but very nicely written. kind of reminds me of that song, "Damaged" by Danity Kane, which is really big right now on the radio.

Wow, very well done. It is sad I can relate, but I lash at anyone who can get close. I feel fear instead of love... I really wish things were simple for me, and I am glad you can lend your trust and the hands of someone who will most likely treat you the way you (I am guessing on that last part :)

Thank you for sharing, this is helping me a bit at understanding what I might have to do to fix myself. I always believe in self improvement. This poem flows nicely, it was able to express its meaning.
