Scars

The hurt is over, 
the wound is closed, 
a gaping wound once exposed, 
those tmes lived, you've 
  conquered pain, 
moving forward in 
  new strengths gained. 

Scars come of many kinds,
silent stories left behind, 
sometimes of constant struggle, 
courage and strength found 
  amongst its rubble.

Scars mean pathways
to places new
somewhere with a
better view.
Serving a reminder too
of a past we outgrew.

So don't burn energies
on yesterday,
they're just cobwebs
that get in the way, but
don't erase your past, as
it reminds you where
you've been, as you
find a place serene.

Tracing scars was a childhood thing with me, much like fidgeting and stuff... long before fidget spinners where even thought of. This metaphor really strikes home. Have an awesome week!
