Where I'm From

Where I'm From

A Poem by WriteWiz99

Where I’m From

I am from at-home tree nature, from McDonald’s and Champions

I am from the nature-covered concrete sidewalks and streets. I’m from the dead leaves left over from October.

I’m from opening presents on Christmas Eve and comfort of the TV. From Daddy’s decent smelling cologne and Mom’s coin purse.

I’m from heath concerns to old movie watching.

From “You need to chew your food” and “I don’t have time”. I’m from wooden crosses, clapping, and after church baptisms.

I’m from Zack and Cody

From rice and stew

From scrapbooks, wallets, and plastic bins

That’s where I’m from.
