The Kiss of Death

The Kiss of Death

A Poem by Linzey
"

Let me give you a kiss goodnight....

"

Slowly coming
Quickly it fades
The faint pressure resonates on our lips, cheeks, neck
Oh how sweet it truly is
You feel yourself being drained
Of life, of passion, of happiness
Emptiness consumes your bones
Hollow and so easily broken
Never crumbling, but always in fear

She can see you
Coming ever so closer
Let her not pull you in
Having her constrict you with her blood stained thorns
At least breathe her in
For it will be the last breath you take
Because of your own mistakes
Let her kiss you goodnight before you fall into your eternal sleep

Cold and alone
Being hugged and caressed by your fears
You can still feel her next to you
Your senses tingle from the memories
Her scent, her taste
Consuming you once again
Letting the emptiness now consume you forever
The constricting vines
The pain and warm feeling as the blood runs down your body
You feel at home for at least a few minutes more

She can see you
Coming ever so closer
Let her not pull you in
Having her constrict you with her blood stained thorns
At least breathe her in
For it will be the last breath you take
Because of your own mistakes
Let her kiss you goodnight before you fall into your eternal sleep

Cradling yourself
Trying to forget the evil that flows through your veins
We can see the black underneath your skin
Everyone knows it's there
Don't be so foolish to think that you can hide it
Let the evil rise once again
As the memories encompass your brain
The shape of her returns
Feel her now
For it's all you may ever do

She can see you
Coming ever so closer
Let her not pull you in
Having her constrict you with her bloodstained thorns
At least breathe her in
For it will be the last breath you take
Because of your own mistakes
Let her kiss you goodnight before you fall into your eternal sleep

It curves

Following a mold cast to kill

So many want her power

If only for a moment

Yet, she is too much for them

They are just too weak

You were the foolish one

Going against your own common sense

You've gotten what you deserve

She can see you

Coming ever so closer

Let her not pull you in

Having her constrict you with her bloodstained thorns

At least breathe her in

For it will be the last breath you take

Because of your own mistakes

Let her kiss you goodnight before you fall into your eternal sleep

This is supposed to be a song, yet I'm unsure if it should have another verse or if some should be combined and more added after that. Your own thoughts would be greatly appreciated =)

Maybe too long for my eyes. But poem it self have very nice flow plus twisted progress. Like fly of night bird very dark and light.

Haunting.

I really like this. The chorus really drums the message to the reader that she can see you, and shes watching. Id love to hear it as an actual song (:

I wish I could hear it in tune. It's really good. I love the lyrics. I think some of them should be combined, though, because you have the chorus quite a few times throughout.
