An Ode To Hair

An Ode To Hair

A Poem by Starling
"

Does what it says on the tin

"
Smooth and soft
Spiky and sharp
Curly and rough
Light or dark

Worn loose or attached
In colours that match
Pulled into a frown
Or just hanging down

It protects our eyes
And our sensitive skin
It breaks or falls out
And can even grow in

You can do with or without
"Let it down" or "pull it out"
It catches our tears
Or grows out of our ears

It tickles a chin
Or hides a grin
It decorates toes
And sticks to clothes

It can be shaved or dyed
Curled, braided or tied
Combed into a quiff
Or parted to the side

Be kind to your hair
Even if you don't care
Because let's be fair
It may not always be there

Ha! I knew a young guy once who got an ulcer from worrying about his thinning hair. I share your love of hair, except when I find one in my mashed potatoes. Good, entertaining writing, my friend.

Ouch! Poor guy! I agree that hair and food should not mix. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for reading! (Un?)surprisingly, this was inspired by a conversation about shaving! ;)
