The Language of the World

The Language of the World

A Poem by Here's What I Say
"

I'm figuring out what Coehlo said...and finally seeing it in my life. <3

"

When I first saw your face
Wow, she’s right
I am bubble gum pop

I’m reading The Alchemist
I was beginning to wonder
If I’d ever learn the Language of the World too

Especially the part of it I yearn the most for.

So yeah
I had that feeling
I started feeling

Damn you, David Archuleta
For saying everything
That I’m feeling

I’m sorry. I wish I could be more original.

I want to wrap you in my arms
Hold you tight
Kiss you all over your face

Caress your long, pale hands
Wanting your fingers to tap me
As much as you tap the keys

If I could shove you onto this couch
Rub you down
Love you

Feel your stubble from your chin
On my poor, chapped lips
Maybe you can moisten them

I’ll warm you up
Hold you as far as my short arms can reach
But hold tightly what I can

I wish this were real
And not something that has to be coaxed out
By music

And being the poor
Ugly
Hopeless

Romantic, I am. Damn, I wish this were real

But all things
Under heaven
As the song says, have a purpose

According to Coehlo
Part of the Language of the World
Is love

While I’m not fluent yet
I know that
I’m learning it

And my first word was you.

this was awesome.. it had this nice informal feeling to it that really was charming.

"So yeah
I had that feeling
I started feeling"

and she started feeling David Archuleta!!!!! The Spider!

anyway, yeah, the poem was very good and was able to address the subject directly without being completely dense about it. very nice..

Great write! I love your confident vulnerability. Though I disagree with how you characterize yourself, it does show how you don't take yourself too seriously, which is a good thing. Keep learning that language ma! I'm still practicing my diction as well.....
