Who am I?

Who am I?

A Poem by Voice11
"

A poem for my English class about woman.

"
Who am I?
To you.
Am I quiet, petite
everything I should be
to you?
I see my disguise
a reflection in your eyes
and ask myself again
Who am I?
I have lived through
Sorrows and guilt aplenty
Deaths mourned and sacrifices made
Hurricanes and Tidal waves
of just plain Stuff
that gets bottled up inside.
Now can you please tell me, Who am I?
It's pointless to ask
I know
you do not have the answer
But I do
I am that girl
sitting in the corner reading
as you start preaching
about the grandeur of your masculine race
But would you be able to face
the inferno in my soul
hidden
just so I can be
this disguise that you see
Tell me
Can you walk into the flames of Hell
and still live to tell?
I thought not
So what makes you think
you can put out these flames of mine?
These flames will Never die
Because
I am a woman.

I think your poem and mine, called, "Power of Women" should slow dance!! : ) You....are.....woman, most definitely to champion such a biased but beautiful view through this rhetoric of poem I totally agree with and enjoy!! I am starting to get curious, for some reason, why I am the only in your comment boxes aaaaand why I have never come across your face. Wonderful poem. Beautiful Michelle. xoxo -Your Mark
