The Heart of A Child

The Heart of A Child

A Poem by Li Li

You have innocence inside..
Such pride, and admiration...
A hidden attraction for a woman I call a nation

You make good use of your imagination
Putting forth the most meaningful expression
When able to leave a mark
One will find your impression

Even at times when Black And White Collide
You see the world in color
Speaking upon what no other
Has the nerve to say
It's you who's brave
You who never let's a day fall grey
In the picture you portray
I always see hope

In you I've found a man
With the Heart of A Child
You speak.... I smile
Appreciating every mile we walk
Treasuring every time that we talk....
I'm glad our paths came to cross
I found in you
What I once thought so many had lost

Very beautiful and brilliantly written. Great flow, much like it's own heartbeat.

Powerful piece, I loved it!

AWESOME piece here LiLi. I liked the line in stanza one - " A hidden attraction for a Woman I call a Nation"
I liked stanza two as well when as we write a poets one of our main aims is to make an impression. Stanza three is the best stanza for me. I like the way you mentioned "When Black And White Collide" And seeing the world in colour. And how Poets have to be Brave to write what others don't see. The last stanza is a lovely tribute to a special person.
Thank you for writing this

Ah, Li Li, another beautiful sentiment, so beautifully expressed. It would be nice if all of us could remain in touch with the inner child in our hearts...we'd be living in a better world. I'm very taken with your style and cannot help hearing your voice reading this to musical accompanyment (you spoiled us with your use of Evoca on "Eye of the Beholder").

just so you know ur write inspired me thanks ,u already know how i feel about this ,
creation,,peace wizthom

sun shinning children are playing ,

no-matter the color fun is the only divider,

raining still they are enjoying ,

building cakes out of mud, sailing boats of pop sickle sticks,

to some far off land as a child can dream,

chasing rainbows search for the ever elusive pot of gold,

catching lightning bugs making rings and necklaces ,

climbing tree looking up at the clouds drifting by,

me oh my such is the ways of a child's life,

watching fireworks see the aw in their eyes

oh my lord people think of what the world would be like ,

with out a play ground swing sets sliding boards,

and i will show you a world disavowed of children,

think of a world with out children,

a world where innocents are lost,

where love is sold and brought, sunny days serves no cause,

no laughter,no joy,no love,no hope faith dead

would be a world without children,

think for a moment better yet feel ,

feel the pain of growing old in a world ,

that's fading ,

without children how will there be a future,

for mankind the whole humane race,

without children you will lose sight of God,

for he sees life often Thu a child eyes,

he often smiles at the world Thu a child at play,

i can't help but feel it's only because of the children,

he affords this world another day,

love that child ,even if it's not yours.

just remember in that child future u will play apart,

stop the wars, stop the polluting, give the forest back the trees,

lets start here and now to build a world based on hope love faith and peace,

if not for you ,not for me,do it ,,just do it ,

for the babies ,let the sunshine in their eyes,

give them a future where we put God back in life,

please here my plead ,,peace wisemanspeeks@wizthom

What a heart warming, compassionate poem

My heart and soul felt every emotion imaginable as I read through this poemmore then once

The way it takes the reader by the hand and holds them until the end is incredible

You must hear the applause by now take a bow

Brava
