Astronomical Observation

Am I writing poetry again? Really?

Looking towards the sky,

I began to decipher the constellations

longing to discover the origin of his existence.

I began by opening Pyxis taking Circinus within my hands.

Vela began leading me down the liquid diamonds of the Eradinus.

 

I pretended I was Andromeda longing for Perseus.

Together we would illuminate the sky beyond the radiance of the sun.

Helios would bow in our honor.

 

Our love would kindle the flames of Olympus.

The Greek Gods would appear from the heavens.

Atlantis would arise once more

as the hands of the horologium determined a new era of evolution.

 

Mythology now became our reality.

 

The infinite density of the universe

now consisted of only him and I.

The cosmological distances between our galaxies came together,

forming our own relativity of astronomical observation.

Thank God I studied this stuff or I would've read each line then looked it up in wiki
for show. I mostly like the way you braided the constellation stories into the poem.

greek mythology, nice, the gods are used well here, i thought when you where describing the sun you would have used apollo, but its still good....

Wow. This is different. You had to be looking at the stars in order for this to inspire you. Am I right?

Plus, I'd never seen mythology connected with astronomy in poetry. Definitely a first.
