How Does It Feel?

How Does It Feel?

A Poem by Shanny Rowanhill

How does it feel

to dream at the end of the day and

How does it feel

when i take them away?

How does it feel

to have the gun pointed at your head and

How does it feel

in your bottomless bed?

How does it feel

to scream your throat apart and

How does it feel

with and un-beating heart?

It's not over until you give your soul

It's not over

until you sign with your name

It's not breaking news and

It's not amusement

It's not over until you choke.

How does it feel

to run 'til you fall on your knees and

How does it feel

with an eternal disease?

How does it feel

to break in two every time you wake and

How does it feel

to be nothing but a fake?

How does it feel

to shard your soul every minute of the day and

How does it feel

when I censor all you say?

How does it feel,

the chain, the mask and the surgical knife and

How does it feel

to beg for your life?

I don't know. Do you think it's a bit too long?

Not too long at all. Repetitive though .

I agree. I've been thinking of rewriting it actually.
