Lie

Lie

A Poem by Sean_Norman

I never understood why people lie.

To cover up the truth or to make someone cry.

I have been known, To do the same.

I should have stepped up and took the blame.

Lying is addicting no matter what you say.

It will all catch up to us on judgment day.

The bible says "thou shall not lie".

But why do we all do it without bating a eye.

Why is it so hard for us to be honest.

I remember a time when people were modest.

A lie gets bigger as time goes on.

Before we know it everyone is gone.

Being honest can sometimes hurt.

It might even make the people we love feel like dirt.

So keep this in mind next time you lie.

Will it all be worth it when you die.

words of wisdom being penned down elegantly. the message is really nice and useful something to our current scenario. to hide one's lie, one has to speak a thousand lie for it. i like the last stanza a lot. it's true that sometimes being honest cost us nastily, but if a person really loves them, then they should appreciate their honesty rather than cursing them.

loved it . the simple diction adores it and so does the rhyming scheme. thanks for sharing.
