Perfect torture

A short poem about going through a big change in your life

Perfect, a word used to describe many things,
The perfect weather, when the sun beats down on cold skin,
The perfect view, when the clouds part and your breath leaves your body,
The perfect moment, when you are completely lost and wrapped up in bliss.
Perfect.


The perfect smile, that can say a thousand words whilst making your soul dance,
The perfect sentence, that can ease all your pains and worries.
The perfect person, one that can make you feel safe and warm.
The perfect love, that love that wraps you up and makes you think of nothing else.
Perfect.

That's just it though, for you its perfect, because its all relative.
What is perfection for you is hell for others.
What happens though when what you percieve as perfect turns sour.
When what you once thought made your heart leap,
now makes your heart break, leaves deep unhealable wounds.

Perfection is hard to keep, hard to nurture
but what happens when that perfection you tried so hard to keep slips through your fingers,
When you are left with the pieces of a fractured being,
A mind torn by what it felt and what is now left.

A perfect torture, thats what is left, a torture you designed for yourself,
a hell of your own making,
a broken perfection that you will always uphold all other perfection to,
because however broken that perfect seems, it was perfect.
For one perfect minute, one perfect hour, one perfect day
However broken it ws perfect once, so you will continue to torture yourself,
as you search for the perfect day,
then you realize it will never be that perfect day but another kind of perfect.
