All Alone

All Alone

A Poem by Subham Chatterjee

Singly , a river kisses the sand ,

No tree to shelter or provide a stand,

Scarce with water, seldom drives,

Nor a city, neither a village ....

does it touch its ripping vines ,......

Silence, a word to keep it going,

Scorching its way, helping it drying,

Even the sky is amazed at its journ,

The river ,.. with no heart , has nothing to mourn.

Spring and Autumn has its cast,

Far in the east, blooms in rust,

Time and again on summer eves,

Storm and gust tear the grieves ......

Once in a year comes the rain,

Blows the empty mind of the golden terrain...

Land and stream drip together,

Singly,... the river dreams forever ....

When the world sleeps in its tiry bliss

Seems the loner meditates amidst,

By and by creeps into the deep,

No one by its side......

awake or asleep.

Like this part, i can feel some deep & dark undertones in this. So very well written. Love the flow and rhyme scheme.
