I think this is actually a very clever poem. Your use of the word 'schizophrenia' is, I think, an ironic play on the word. We all of us hear our 'inner voice' all of the time. In the illness of schizophrenia that 'inner voice' goes wrong. Your poem is particularly poignant ,because in the Illness, that 'voice' is often heard when one is alone. I very much doubt if you have actually got schizophrenia .......have you?

But my diagnosis was changed when it was discovered that I am Milk and Grain intolerant (I have not got the enzymes to digest it.) But I was ill for years and years, in and out of hospital, and I got to know a lot of other mentally ill people. It was, actually, an incredible learning experience. There were some wonderful people, and I got to learn empathy for those who were suffering. I sincerely hope you are not in too bad away. Just try not to take it too seriously ..... and keep writing!
Thanks for the support and kindness and sharing your story with me.

I wasn't sure how to read this poem, so I was looking to see how others read it. This is a mind-blowing share. I'm recovering from a brain injury . . . it's taken 6 years since neck surgery mm's from brain stem. It's great to have some of my memory & functionality back, but like you say, Astri, now I have the UTMOST regard for those with memory issues. You really don't know how it is until it happens to you. My very best to you both (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

There is such depth and multiplicity of meaning in your lines, Suhd. I could feel the shizophrenic’s desolate world. I could also feel the desperation of a lover! Kudos to you!
