If You Know What I Mean

If You Know What I Mean

A Poem by Sumary Prom
"

Beat poem.

"

She likes drinking cold milk
And listening to jazz
While petting her cat
If you know what I mean

He likes poking his nose
Into other people's business
When he eats out for lunch
If you know what I mean

They like to use their telescope
Every evening to gaze
At all the twinkling stars
If you know what I mean

We like to go for long walks
In the park, playing tag
Back and forth, back and forth
If you know what I mean

I like going to the market
To find the perfect
Walnuts and watermelons
If you know what I mean

You like reading things
Taking them out of context
And depriving them of innocence
If you know what I mean

Author's Note

Sumary Prom
It's better read out loud, or performed with a glass of milk to the sound of jazz if you know what I mean.
