A Poem by Sunshine Kid

Confuse me
Until my
Head literally
Spins
Off its axis
And into
Space.
Lead me
To where you
Want me
But leave me
To figure
It out.
Suggest
Then drop
Then pick up
Then drop again
Until I’m
On all fours
Looking for
Your point
As you look down
Not laughing
Or irritated
But intrigued.
Hint at
Your understanding
But never
Ever
Let me hear
It
Full and straight
Out.
Just let me
Guess
(Even though
You know
I hate it)
But you also
Know it’s
Necessary
For you know
Much more
Than I.
It’s rough
I’ll give you
That
And it fuels
That one
Itty
Bitty
Tiny
Thing that
Infuriates me
About myself
But maybe
Maybe
That’s what
It’s supposed
To do.
Is it
Working?
