Judgmental Remarks

Judgmental Remarks

A Poem by Kayla K
"

Stereotypes are wrong. Plain and simple. Everybody is different, and nothing is perfection. Stop judging people based on looks, or even actions. Judge a person by the goodness inside of their heart.

"
They giggle and they laugh. They frown when they walk past. I don't know how I get through it. My life... I want to quit it.~Abbie, a good friend
~*~
You all need to open your eyes, and realize that there's a whole world outside of your little personal bubble. You're not the only person in the world.~Band teacher, a very wise man.

~*~

No one can change a person, but a person can be the reason someone changes.~Spongebob

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl.

What is my crime?

What have I done wrong?

Why don't I belong?

~*~

Cutter, cutter.

Go and cry.

Slit your wrists,

so you can die.

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl.

That is my crime?

Yes, I've kissed the blade,

more than one time.

~*~

Skinny, skinny.

Don't dare eat.

Seek attention,

from all you meet.

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl.

That is my crime?

These insecurties,

which eat me alive

So I long to become,

less than a size five

~*~

Writer, writer.

With words you hide

"Saving" yourself

from slow suicide

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl

That is my crime?

Ink dotting paper,

I'm a hope maker

~*~

Goth girl, goth girl

In black, head to toe

Do you not realize,

your looks scare us so?

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl

That is my crime?

To me, black is beauty

Does that make me creepy?

~*~

Smart kid, smart kid

What's with your books?

And do you even care,

about your looks?

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl

That is my crime?

Books are my journey

They make me happy

~*~

Dumb boy, dumb boy

What's in your head?

It seems to me,

that your brain is dead

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl

That is my crime?

Words, they confuse me

Can no one else see?

~*~

Gay guy, gay guy

You bring me disgust

To me and the world,

you are the weirdest

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl

That is my crime?

Girls are not for me

Please here my voice,

when I say it's not my choice

~*~

Weird kids, weird kids

You're different than me

I am perfection

Can you not see?

~*~

Pretty girl, pretty girl

You look so sweet

But we all can see

that you too, do weep

~*~

I love the honesty in this poem. I love how you used several stereotypes to illuminate the truth that we all suffer, and that no one is weird for being themselves. It's really beautiful.

This was fun. Keep in mind most people grow out of this pettiness. A few retain it, but they are easily ignored. But you know that.

I love this poem =] Everything about it is honest, and I wish everyone would see it. The world would be a far better place.
