Radiant Rain

Radiant Rain

A Poem by Surabhi Kaushik
"

The silver sheets of rain are an inspiration and muse to many writers. I am one of them. I was also inspired by the poem The Rain by Christie Ann Martine.

"

Whistling winds and dancing trees
welcome you dear rain
your silver sheets pour down in torrents
throwing sparkling crystal drops on streets

As you pour, ripping open the sky
thoughts in my mind are many
I wonder how easily you cascade
from the hills and slide through the streets

Your little droplets falling from above
have some magic in them
once it’s rained, things are never the same,
you drench the world with special freshness.

Washing the tall buildings,
cleaning the roads,
I wonder if you know
that you have cleansed many souls.
