Break-Up

Break-Up

A Poem by Mariana Silva
"

Even when the person who said they love you, breaks your heart, there is still hope that you can be strong and learn to pass them without your heart breaking over and over again.

"

"I don't need you!"

She shouted from her heart

The day he left her alone.

"I hate you!"

She whispered, as pain crippled her heart.

She didn't want to be alone. . .

She had wanted someone,

Anyone, to just care,

Care that she was dying

But, there was no one

And she felt it wasn't fair.

So, she got louder while crying.

She fell to her knees,

Cradled her head

And began to tear herself apart.

She didn't care about the pain in her knees.

She just hid in her head

As she looked back to the start.

She remembered all the bad

As well as all of the good

And it was the good she dwelled on.

She went from infuriated...to sad.

Nothing was ever all good

And she had nothing to dwell on.

"She was never mine,"

He tells her friends

As she passes by.

She empties out her mind,

Ties loose ends,

And finally tells him good-bye.
