The Warrior Oaks

The Warrior Oaks

A Poem by Swetha
"

An English Sonnet about Nature and its destruction

"

The mighty oaks stand

Tall and proud as warriors

Yet even they cannot withstand

The axes, chainsaws, and carriers

Mother Earth gives us beauty in life

Soft petals, lush leaves, and bee hives

Yet only to destroy her do we strive

By threatening her with machines and knives

Flowers and trees give us inner peace

Blooming buds, unfurling leaves, and ripening fruit

Yet we destroy them with practised ease

Nature's treasuries and reserves do we loot

So, with grasped hands and care for the future

Let us save our Mother Nature

This sonnet was written for a group project given by my English teacher, yet, as expected, I wrote most (or all) of it.

You have some good sentences in here but I find the flow isn't quite there. Soft petals, lush leaves, and bee hives doesn't work for me - you use adjectives before petals and leaves (and the two together are a soft, gentle theme) and then you throw in another noun without an adjective that isn't similar enough to leaves and petals
