Oh Autumn!

I hear the rhythm of the leaves

tantalizing in the breeze,

and it won’t be very long

as autumn dances

 to her striptease song~

 

Oh autumn, please serenade me!

Rustle your skirt of gold and red ember

as you say good bye to September__

Cha Cha your slender limbs

as you self- indulge your whims~

Oh autumn, please dance for me!

 

While you are posing bare

with just a few leaves in your hair
and essence of ginger perfume,
within the smoke and ashes

except for your branches
is the memory

 of yesterday's

 bloom~

I just love the imagery here.... Autumn puts on quite a show before exiting the stage for winters appearance. Wonderful flow...almost like a song. ;-)

I felt the magic in your verses... Autumn is my favorite season.... for one it is symbolic to me as spiritually letting go of the old and moving forward, then you have the beautiful colors, crisp air and the smell of fireplaces burring.

You're welcome! You're getting me into the Autumn spirit. I was enjoying the turning of the colors today during a walk through the woods. Frisky little Squirrels, groundhogs, and chipmunks everywhere in search of nuts to store for Winter hibernation.
